Exercise in general can be good for all kinds of body pain, but working out your core in particular can be particularly helpful for all kinds of back pain. Not only do stronger ab muscles look good, but they also serve a purpose as well. Having a strong core can help shoulder some of the load that your back would normally have to pick up. The muscles torso, core and back all work together to carry the weight of your body and anything you are carrying, so if one area is severely lacking, it means the other areas have to work harder, which can lead to pain and injuries.
