You need to eat in order to feel your best, it’s as simple as that. Skipping meals as a way of losing weight can only come back to bite you in the back. Getting a steady flow of balanced nutrients in your body retains a constant blood sugar level. Skipping meals, on the other hand, can wreak havoc with this internal process and result in frequent headaches and feelings of tiredness. Make sure you’re eating a balanced mix of foods at regular intervals. That way, you will be equipped to take on anything the world throws your way.

The way that you hold yourself can have huge ramifications on every part of your body, not least your neck. Having poor posture in the workplace can put unnecessary strain on your shoulders and neck which in turn, can lead to constant tension headaches. To avoid the risk of developing chronic headaches, try and address the way you hold yourself when you work. Keep your back as straight as you can, have your computer at eye level and get up to move at regular intervals. You might just feel all the better for it.

  1. Consuming Too Little Water

Your body is made up of 75% water and in order to keep yourself in the best possible shape, it pays to drink a little bit throughout the day. If you fail to take in enough water throughout the day, your brain tissue can lose water, causing the organ to shrink in volume and pull away from the skull. When this happens, you begin to feel pain around the area, which can result in a headache. Make sure you keep a bottle of water with you throughout the day. That way, you can nip dehydration in the bud.

  1. Drinking Too Much Alcohol

While alcohol can lead to dehydration in your brain, it can also disrupt your sleeping habits, leading to a rise in headaches. Not getting enough sleep has been associated with migraines and regular headaches, so doing everything you can to improve the experience is really in your best interests. If you’re drinking alcohol, make sure you’re doing so alongside glasses of water. Sipping on another drink will prevent the alcohol from taking too strong a hold on your body, making it easier for you to sleep like a log.

The more stressed that you feel, the more difficult it will become for you to feel your best. As well as interfering with hormone production in your body, constant stress can make it harder for you to get sufficient rest and can even lead to tension headaches. If you’re feeling the pressure mounting up on you, try taking a few quiet moments in the day for yourself. Activities like meditation, yoga and gentle exercise can help you to work through periods of tension and feel at your very best once more.
