She and her husband flew there on a humanitarian trip to work with the refugee camps in northern Uganda. Prior to leaving the States, Danielle had experienced minor aches and pains but did not anticipate what would come next. Flare up symptoms spiraled out of control. She lost twenty pounds in in ten days, then spent a week in a two-bedroom hospital where provisions were thin. The bedside chair was a plastic lawn chair. Food was only available if her husband made arrangements for it. Her bed was a plank of wood with sheets.
