Repeating this to your active aging client, who has never worked out but is flattened on the gym floor about to puke, deserves at the very least a look of disgust from anyone in earshot. It’s just not cool. Plus, we’re all sick of hearing it, even ironically. Pain means friction; it’s probably an indication that there is something wrong. Pushing through pain is fine if it’s burning lungs or some lactic acid, but there is no universal rule that all pain is a weakness.
