There was a time when diet didn’t mean Paleo. It was probably right before Atkins came into prominence in the 70’s. At one time, diet meant what one was eating, not code for “weight loss planning.” Sure, the reason it implies weight loss is the fact that many go on special diets to lose weight. Now we have to trash it. Unless you work with animals, you cannot say diet anymore. Say meal or nutrition planning.
