This is just dumb. Ask me again if something is caloric. I’ll say yes over time, even if it’s not edible. At some level, everything contains energy. With some kind of instrumentation, that energy could be qualified in calories. Is it caloric? Yep. The problem is that this word has come to imply something it does not mean: something bad. Caloric items are bad items. What we mean is highly caloric, items, which, by the way, is also a very subjective vague expression. Ditch them both.
