This one lives right next door to caloric. Of this list, this word has a special place in my hackles. No word is more abused and misleading than the word… I won’t even repeat it. The implications are with “being fat,” which we’ll come back to, but with the perception that a particular food is to blame for excessive adipose tissue [read: fat]. Food is an experience. It is our abuse of those experiences that makes food something negative. Leave the food alone.
