Turmeric is said to be one of the world’s healthiest foods to consume as it has a number of health benefits for our bodies.
Turmeric comes from the root of the plant Curcuma Longa and tastes warm, bitter, and ‘peppery’ all at the same time. Turmeric is known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties and has been used in Chinese and Indian medicine for hundreds of years. In fact, the health and anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric can be compared to powerful drugs such as hydrocortisone, and more mildly, Motrin without all of the chemicals!
As well as being an effective anti-inflammatory, Turmeric is also a strong anti-oxidant.
