As mentioned in the introduction, most people in first world countries simply have too many things. Whether it be clothing, electronics or anything else, most of us would be just fine with a lot less. Having so many “things” can really clutter our lives and add unnecessary stress in different areas of our lives. Even better, getting rid of some things won’t only help you by decluttering, but you can also donate them to those less fortunate than yourself.

Face it, we all know those people who find it nearly impossible to say no to others. And as a result, these people have way too many commitments in life. And these commitments can make it nearly impossible to do anything that you want to do, when you are busy doing what other people want you to do. By having the ability to say no to people from time to time, you will help yourself declutter your life by not having so much on your plate each and every day.

Like building any new habit, keeping your life clutter free will not simply happen overnight and can take some time to do. The key here is sticking with it and not letting the clutter in your life to build up after you’ve already made changes to get rid of it and simplify your life in the process. A tip here is to just do something small every day to keep at it, it doesn’t need to be anything monumental, just something to keep the decluttering mission going strong.
