Everyone wants to be successful in their life. But what that “success” is, varies from person to person. Some people believe that success is making a ton of money while others think it is about being happy. Whatever success is to you, we all strive and work hard to achieve that. But no matter how hard we work as an individual, our environment also has an enormous impact on our success. You can work as hard as you want, but if your environment isn’t inviting to success, it will be even harder to get it.

One of the biggest parts of your environment that has an impact on your success is who you surround yourself with. If all of your friends, family and colleagues are lazy and complacent about their lives, it is likely to rub off on you. But if you surround yourself with positive, hardworking and successful people, you are likely to feed off of their energy, learn from them and then be more successful yourself.

Also, the way you spend your time is important and can impact your successes. If you spend your free time watching TV, being lazy and not bettering yourself, you simply won’t be as successful as the person who is working on side projects, bettering themselves and being productive. While there is definitely nothing wrong with relaxing here and there, getting too comfortable and lazy isn’t a good idea as your success will likely suffer.

And lastly, the actual physical location where you live and work can also impact you in more ways than you might think. If you live in an area with nice surroundings, trees and people who care about how their place looks, it will instill similar values in yourself and you will care more about what you do and being successful. Also, the place you work matters a lot too. If you work in a place that is bustling with people and energy, as opposed to a place that doesn’t have much going on, which can lead you to be lazy and work less hard.
