Here is a simple test you can do to know if your egg is cooked or not. Spin the egg. If it spins easily, it’s cooked. If not, it’s probably uncooked. That doesn’t mean it’s fresh, though. Most eggs in the United States are stamped with a freshness date. If you’re still unsure, smell the egg. It should smell like nothing, mostly. Rotten eggs will smell sulfuric.
