3 Things That You Didn’t Know Could Vastly Improve Your Mental Health

We all know of various ways to increase our brain health and strength. Things like learning, reading, teaching and more have been shown to improve our brainpower, but did you know there are also tons of other ways to do so? Well, here are three surprising things you can do to improve your mental health.
1. Get Outside and Enjoy the Weather
For most of us, 90% of our days are stuck being cooped up inside of an office, a car, or our home. This kind of constant containment isn’t great for our mental health and we should make an effort to get outside each and every day (weather permitting of course). Even as little as 5 minutes walking around in a field or through a garden can help you feel great, so you have no excuse not to give this a try.
2. Give, Not Receive
While we all like to receive gifts and praise from others, we actually might get more mental benefits on the other side of things. Various studies have shown that generosity and the more we do and give for others, actually has a direct correlation our happiness and mental health. If you have ever given a birthday or Christmas gift, you know the feeling I am talking about here.
3. Set Goals, But Don’t Be Scared of Failure
Without clear goals or a pathway in life, our minds can sometimes run wild and become overworked with thinking of the possibilities. Of course, it’s always good to dream and leave options open, but having a few goals in life can set you on the right track to better brain power. And unlike traditional goal setting, don’t put so much emphasis on the pass or failure of the goal, it is more about the journey anyways.
