Honey is one of natures superfoods for both health and beauty purposes. The best part about it is that you can pick it up at your local grocery store for just a few dollars making it easily accessible to everyone!
A few major benefits of consuming/applying honey is that it’s an anti-bacterial, it contains a ton of anti-oxidants, and it’s an amazing probiotic.
Honey can combat a host of skin issues when paired with ingredients that you probably already have lying around in your pantry.
For acne prone skin-
Combine 2 tbsp of honey with 1 tsp of nutmeg and apply it as an all-over face mask or just as a spot treatment. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes and leave the spot treatment on overnight. Rinse and continue with your regular skin care regime.
For dry skin-
Combine equal parts (1 tbsp) of honey and coconut oil and apply it all over your face. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes and rinse away. Use this mask twice a week for best results.
For oily skin-
Mix 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of aloe vera, and a pinch of turmeric and apply the mixture to your face. Leave the mask on for approx. 20 minutes and rinse. The aloe, turmeric and honey will work together to rid your skin of any unwanted oils!
For spots and scars-
Mix 1 tbsp of honey with 1 tbsp of lemon juice and apply it directly to your unwanted spots and/or scars leave the treatment on for a minimum of 30 minutes (you can also leave it on all night for even better results.)
