Danielle suffered in pain for three weeks. During that time she made visits to specialists to try to figure out what was happening to her. When the symptoms finally put her in the hospital for a lengthy stay, they were able to give her a diagnosis. They called it ulcerative colitis. It’s an autoimmune disease that attacks the digestive tract. Doctors advised her that she could live a mostly normal life with this disease, but there was no cure and she would be on medication.
