It’s no secret that shampoo-ing too often can damage your hair, but how do you avoid doing something that has become a part of of daily routine? Read below!
1. Don’t shampoo your hair everyday
The reality is, the less often you wash your hair, the less often it needs to be washed. While it may feel a little strange to leave your hair dirty and greasy, eventually your hair will adapt and the natural oil production will slow down allowing you to shampoo less!
2. Don’t over-use hair products
We’re all guilty of using too many hair products and too much of them. We develop a routine and think that if we change up the routine at all, our hair won’t look as good. The saying ‘less is more’ couldn’t be more accurate. By using less product, we’re creating less buildup on our hair, therefore allowing us to shampoo less!
3. Don’t touch it
Touching our hair makes the oils from our hands transfer to our heads creating more build up that needs to be cleaned more frequently.
4. Embrace dry shampoo
Dry shampoo is less damaging than the regular stuff and it can be used on-the-go! It works to remove excess build-up from your hair leaving it looking and feeling like you just washed it!
5. Wash your hair thoroughly when you do wash it
Make sure that you’re cleaning your hair properly when you are. Ensuring a thorough clean each time you wash will prolong the life of your hair between washes. Another tip is to only condition the ends of your hair so that you’re not weighing down the root!
